We started out as a handful of guys with a little idea: let's get some dads together and give our kids some fun stuff to do. And while we're at it, let's teach them some things about life and the big bad world. That's what it's all about right?

Don't let the name fool you: Dakota Dads is really about kids. As guys with first-hand experience trying to keep our kids busy, we know you could probably use some new ways to teach and have fun with yours.

We've got plenty: through Dakota Dads, fathers, grandfathers, uncles - pretty much any father figure - will find great activities to share with the children in their lives.

At Dakota Dads, we're thinking we can learn from each other. Not everyone knows how to bass fish, for instance. Not everyone understands a trap play (although we admire a few who do, like Tony Dungy and his All Pro Dad group, with whom we're partners). Still fewer know how to tell Mozart from Mendelssohn. It's all right: we're on the case.

Dakota Dads has a simple job: to help you do more and go further with your kids than you might on your own. This is a group for fathers and children from every corner of South Dakota, from all walks of life and from all points of view. As a non-profit led by men from around the Sioux Falls region, we want to provide activities you can really gain from as you help shape positive, learning experiences for the young people in your life.

Because you know this much: being a father isn't about the title they gave you in the delivery room. It's about what you do with it.
